چکیده

The presence of spin-orbit (SO) interaction in a noncentrosymmetric superconductor, La2C3 (Tc ≃ 11 K) is demonstrated by muon spin rotation (μSR) in its normal state, where μSR spectra exhibit field-induced weak depolarization due to van Vleck-like local susceptibility. In the mixed state, muon spin relaxation due to inhomogeneity of internal field (σv) exhibits a field dependence that is characterized by a kink, where σv (and hence the superfluid density) is more strongly reduced at lower fields. This is perfectly in line with the presence of a secondary energy gap previously inferred from the temperature dependence of σv, and also consistent with the possible influence of asymmetric deformation of the Fermi surface due to the SO interaction.

Quantum Interference Control of Ballistic Magneto- resistance in a Magnetic Nanowire Containing Two Atomic- Size Domain Walls

The magnetoresistance of a one-dimensional electron gas in a metallic ferromagnetic nanowire containing two atomic-size domain walls has been investigated in the presence of spin-orbit interaction. The magnetoresistance is calculated in the ballistic regime, within the Landauer-Büttiker formalism. It has been demonstrated that the conductance of a magnetic nanowire with double domain walls...

Spin susceptibility of noncentrosymmetric heavy-fermion superconductor CeIrSi3 under pressure: 29Si Knight-shift study on single crystal.

We report 29Si NMR study on a single crystal of the heavy-fermion superconductor CeIrSi3 without an inversion symmetry along the c axis. The 29Si Knight-shift measurements under pressure have revealed that the spin susceptibility for the ab plane decreases slightly below T(c), whereas along the c axis it does not change at all. The result can be accounted for by the spin susceptibility in the s...

Dirac surface states and nature of superconductivity in Noncentrosymmetric BiPd

In non-magnetic bulk materials, inversion symmetry protects the spin degeneracy. If the bulk crystal structure lacks a centre of inversion, however, spin-orbit interactions lift the spin degeneracy, leading to a Rashba metal whose Fermi surfaces exhibit an intricate spin texture. In superconducting Rashba metals a pairing wavefunction constructed from these complex spin structures will generall...

Are Th-doped Y2C3 and La2C3 two-band superconductors?

The superconducting sesquicarbides R2C3 have noncentrosymmetric point group symmetry Td. Spin-orbit coupling lifts the spin degeneracy of electronic bands in the most of the Brillouin zone. Nevertheless, due to high symmetry, there are a few directions along which the Fermi surfaces must touch. This leads to two-band effects in the superconducting state.

Detection of time-reversal symmetry breaking in the noncentrosymmetric superconductor Re6Zr using muon-spin spectroscopy.

We have investigated the superconducting state of the noncentrosymmetric compound Re6Zr using magnetization, heat capacity, and muon-spin relaxation or rotation (μSR) measurements. Re6Zr has a superconducting transition temperature, Tc=6.75±0.05  K. Transverse-field μSR experiments, used to probe the superfluid density, suggest an s-wave character for the superconducting gap. However, zero and ...
